4. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

Purpose: Bank account linking and financial data aggregation. When you connect a bank account, Plaid's secure connection flow may set cookies to facilitate the authentication process with your financial institution.

Purpose: We use the Google Maps Places API on the server to power business location autocomplete during account setup. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google OAuth may set authentication cookies.

Purpose: Privacy-focused website performance analytics. Vercel Analytics measures Web Vitals (page load performance) to help us improve the platform.

Important: Vercel Analytics does NOT use traditional tracking cookies. It collects anonymous, aggregated performance data only.

5. LOCAL STORAGE AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage to maintain certain application state. Local storage is similar to cookies but allows for larger amounts of data to be stored locally on your device.

All local storage data is automatically cleared when you log out of B:Side Assist. The logout process calls localStorage.clear() to remove all stored data.

6.1 Essential Cookies

Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the platform to function. If you block these cookies, you will not be able to log in or use B:Side Assist.

6.2 Third-Party Services

Some third-party cookies are only set when you use specific features:

Plaid cookies are only set when you initiate the bank account connection process. If you do not connect a bank account, no Plaid cookies will be set.
Google cookies may be set when you choose Google OAuth for sign-in. Business location autocomplete uses server-side Google API requests instead of browser-side Google Maps scripts.

6.3 California Residents (CCPA Rights)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. Because we do not sell personal information or use cookies for advertising purposes, the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” requirement does not apply to B:Side Assist. Clear your browser's site data for the B:Side Assist domain

httpOnly Flag: Authentication cookies are marked as httpOnly, preventing JavaScript access and protecting against cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
Secure Flag: All cookies are transmitted only over HTTPS encrypted connections.
